Some conditions we treat

If your body is under attack, our blood and bone marrow transplant team can treat a range of conditions, including:

Anemia

A condition where there is a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin, causing fatigue, weakness, and pale skin.

Histiocytosis

An overproduction of immune cells in the body can lead to tumors or tissue damage.

Immune deficiencies

A condition where the immune system doesn’t function properly, leading to a higher risk of infections.

Leukemia

Leukemia is a cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow, caused by the overproduction of abnormal white blood cells.

Lymphoma

Lymphoma is a cancer that develops in the lymphatic system, affecting lymphocytes—a type of white blood cell.

Metabolic disorders

A condition that disrupts normal metabolism, causing problems with processing food or producing energy.

Myelodysplasia

A disorder in which the bone marrow produces abnormal or dysfunctional blood cells.

Solid tumors, including brain cancer and neuroblastoma

Abnormal masses of tissue that form in the body and can affect the function of various organs, including the brain.

Types of transplants

Allogeneic transplant

After damaged or diseased bone marrow is replaced, patients receive cells from a donor who is often a family member.

Autologous transplant

After a patient undergoes high-dose chemotherapy or radiation, their own stored stem cells are returned to restore blood-forming cells.

Care and support

Pre-transplant evaluations

Before starting the transplant process, we conduct an overall assessment of the heart, lung, kidney, and other organ functions.

Healing spaces for inpatient care

We offer specialized blood and marrow transplant rooms equipped with positive pressure and HEPA filtration to help keep patients safe while their immune systems are low.

Health and wellness programs

Our holistic approach to health and wellness includes access to scientifically proven therapy options, including light touch massage, music therapy, as well as our comprehensive lymphedema program.

Post-transplant monitoring and support

In addition to providing instructions for aftercare, our transplant team offers close post-transplant monitoring that includes frequent visits, lab tests, and adjustments to medication.
