Survivorship

After care that helps you thrive

Our survivorship services help you live well after cancer treatment by addressing its physical, emotional, and social impacts. Our multispecialty team—including an advanced practice specialist, cancer rehabilitation expert, dietitian, and social worker—works with your doctors to create a personalized plan for your recovery.

A typical visit may include:

  • A review of your diagnosis and treatment
  • A discussion about post-treatment issues
  • A physical exam
  • Working with you to develop effective ways to cope with the effects of cancer and treatment
  • Identifying your risk factors for other cancers, along with a referral to cancer screening services, if needed
  • Working with you to set goals to improve your health through exercise, nutrition, and healthy lifestyle choices
  • Creating a personalized follow-up plan for you in collaboration with your cancer and primary doctor

At Corewell Health, our goal is to help you maintain your health, manage your symptoms, and thrive beyond cancer.

What to expect

Your visit is personalized to your needs, and afterward, you’ll receive a survivorship care plan outlining your treatment and follow-up care. Any necessary referrals will be made at the end of your visit. Insurance typically covers this visit like any other cancer care appointment.
