Family Medicine Residency at Troy
The family medicine residency at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital, offers residents an outstanding education in a highly supportive environment. We strive to cultivate knowledge, skill, compassion, leadership and lifelong learning principles in our residents. Our focus is to produce strong clinicians who can deliver high quality, comprehensive health care for patients and their families in a variety of practice settings.

Eight new residents each year are chosen for our program through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP).
What to expect
- Residents have regular office hours in the Family Medicine Center
- First year: one to two half-days per week on average
- Second year: two to three half-days per week on average
- Third year: three to five half-days per week on average
- Patient care is supervised by faculty and local family physicians with at least one preceptor for every three residents
- Residents are exposed to patients from surrounding communities ranging in size from small townships to large cities. Patients come from a variety of ethnic, cultural, religious and socioeconomic backgrounds. This diversity provides excellent training about varying patient needs, customs and values
