The department of radiology provides the full spectrum of radiology services for our patients. Our equipment is state-of-the-art and regularly updated.

Imaging center

Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital is home to a dedicated free-standing imaging center on campus, which is a multistory building which houses a gamut of radiology services and includes a state-of-the-art conference room.

  • One 1.5-Tesla MRI scanner and one 3-Tesla MRI scanner (for body, MSK, and neuro examinations)
  • Two CT scanners
  • Four digital ultrasound units
  • Three fluoroscopy units
  • Two digital general diagnostic rooms

The Breast Imaging Center is part of the Comprehensive Breast Care Center that functions jointly with surgery and radiation oncology

  • Five ultrasound units
  • Stereotactic prone and upright core biopsy units
  • 3-Tesla breast MR units with capability for MR guided procedures
  • Top of the line mammography units with tomosynthesis and spot tomosynthesis

Emergency and inpatient radiology

  • Four fluoroscopic units
  • Eight digital general diagnostic units
  • Six CT scanners
  • Twenty ultrasound units
  • Five MRI scanners

Nuclear medicine

  • Two PET/CT scanners
