The Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Department of Radiology and Molecular Imaging offers one of the premier Diagnostic Radiology training programs in the Midwest. Each section offers ample clinical and research opportunities under the direct guidance of subspecialized radiologists in every subsection of radiology. Residents and faculty are fully supported in their clinical and research endeavors, demonstrated by numerous peer-reviewed publications and presentations at national meetings each academic year.
Our ACGME approved radiology residency programs offer 10 R1 residency positions each year, with 8 spots available for DR residents and 2 spots available for IR residents. Our Diagnostic Radiology residency is a categorical program with an integrated Transitional Year internship, which serves as an early introduction into Corewell Health and allows residents to avoid the hassle of moving again after only 1 year. Transitional Year residents rotate through the Radiology department for 2 months as part of their curriculum, benefiting from the early exposure to radiology that these rotations provide.
Not only is Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital a great place to train, it is a great place to live. Many residents live within walking distance of the hospital or in the metro Detroit region, which offers 7 of the top 10 best cities to live in Michigan. Many residents have had such a good experience that they have stayed with us for fellowship and faculty positions. Some years over 50% of our residents have elected to remain at Corewell Health for their post-residency training.
