The Cardiology fellowship program at Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a three-year fellowship.
The program is designed to teach clinical, invasive, and noninvasive cardiology. The trainees will develop expertise in left heart cardiac catheterization, right heart catheterization, cardiac biopsies, intra-aortic balloon pump placement, permanent pacing, and cardiac electrophysiology. In addition, there is comprehensive training in noninvasive cardiology which includes cardiac EKG analysis, echocardiography, transesophageal echocardiography, stress testing including stress echo, and nuclear stress testing. Also, trainees develop expertise in specific management of heart failure and are exposed to cardiac transplant patients. They will also have a chance to utilize the new and updated Cath Lab.
The program has received continued accreditation from the ACGME, effective Sept. 27, 2019.
