What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I'm excited to start this next chapter in Grand Rapids and to meet my fellow residents as we start training together. I look forward to training at such an impressive children's hospital that offers incredible resources and opportunities while still feeling welcoming and supportive. Most of all, I'm excited to finally begin my career in medicine and meet the patients and families that I will have the privilege of caring for!

Clinical interests: My clinical interests are general child neurology, neonatal neurology, neuroimmunology, and headache. 

Hobbies: I love Pilates, wine tasting, reading, spending time by the water, and being with friends and family!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited to work and learn in a collaborative and supportive environment to become a well-rounded pediatrician. I am also looking forward to exploring Grand Rapids and everything West Michigan has to offer!

Clinical interests: I am undecided, but am leaning more towards inpatient medicine. 

Hobbies: I enjoy playing tennis, doing hot yoga, going for walks, and reading.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? To step into a role with significant responsibility and learning excites me for my pediatric residency. I have looked forward to taking my passion and committing it to the work ethic and focus required to become a physician that can heal mentally and physically. I am excited to train with and be trained by some of the sharpest and kindest minds as I hope it adds such to my own. Paired with those sentiments I also look forward to being impactful to the minority youth through my representation and interactions with them and family during health care.

Clinical interests: My clinical interests are allergy and immunology, primary care, neonatology, and serving underserved communities. I aspire to provide a bridge to those with barriers to care as well as access to underinsured/uninsured children.

Hobbies: My hobbies include weight training, boxing, competitive video gaming, and comic books. I plan on getting acclimated with snowboarding this winter.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited to train at Corewell Health because of the opportunity to care for a diverse patient population across a large catchment area. I value the program’s strong clinical volume, which supports hands-on learning, as well as the mentorship provided by dedicated and experienced faculty. I am also excited about the partnership with MSU College of Human Medicine and the opportunity to be involved in medical student education.

Clinical interests: I am excited to explore all areas of pediatrics, with particular interests in pediatric critical care and cardiology.

Hobbies: I enjoy spending time outdoors, whether hiking with my dog, playing tennis, or rock climbing. I also love cooking with family and friends, and playing board games.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? As a native Michigander, I am very excited to continue my medical training in this wonderful state. Being from Detroit, I am eager to explore Grand Rapids and all that West Michigan has to offer. I am honored to be able to learn and grow at such an excellent standalone pediatric facility as Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Joining a program with a well-rounded focus on academics, advocacy, and providing compassionate, family-centered care gives me great confidence as I begin this next stage of my career.

Clinical interests: I am currently drawn to pediatric emergency medicine, particularly the unpredictability of each patient encounter and the need to adapt quickly to whatever a child may need in that moment. I also value the opportunity to provide strength and support to patients and their families during what are often highly stressful experiences.

Hobbies: Outside of medicine, I like to stay active and keep busy. During the sunny summer months, I enjoy spending time outdoors hiking, swimming, and kayaking. In the winter, I can often be found crocheting or curled up with a good book.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? What excites me most about starting residency at Corewell Health is the opportunity to join such a supportive, collaborative, and passionate team. During my sub-internship, I experienced how welcoming the residents, faculty, and staff are, so I'm excited to be able to learn and grow alongside such an incredible group of people. I'm also excited to be a part of providing compassionate, high level care to the children and families in West Michigan! I'm looking forward to exploring Grand Rapids and becoming part of a strong community both inside and outside the hospital. 

Clinical interests: Right now, I am most interested in primary care pediatrics and newborn medicine. However, I also have a growing interest in Neonatology, so I'm keeping an open mind as I begin residency. I'm excited to explore the wide variety of elective opportunities at Corewell Health to help me discover where I fit best within pediatrics. 

Hobbies: Outside of medicine, I love anything related to musical theater and will probably be spending a lot of time at DeVos Performance Hall. I also enjoy reading cheesy romance novels, listening to true crime podcasts, playing volleyball and tennis, trying new restaurants/recipes, spending time at the lake, keeping up with reality tv, and making memories with friends and family!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited for so many things about my training at Corewell Health. I'm excited to train in a hospital system that is so beloved by its patients and community, to work alongside such compassionate and dedicated individuals, to grow in my competence and confidence as a provider, and to do it all while being close to home and family in beautiful Southwest Michigan! 

Clinical interests: My clinical interests are cardiology and critical care. 

Hobbies: My hobbies include tennis, pickleball, amateur golf, walking/hiking, reading, anything crafty!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? Growing up in mid-Michigan, I have always heard about Helen DeVos Children's Hospital and the amazing care provided there. I am excited to join such a community-focused and collaborative environment, while learning in a state of the art facility that has incredible resources. I can't wait to learn and grow with my co-residents, serving this community in any way we can. 

Clinical interests: I am currently interested in outpatient and child abuse pediatrics but also excited to explore different specialties throughout residency. 

Hobbies: You can usually find me at a sporting event for one of my siblings, nieces or nephews. If not there, I enjoy reading and walking my dog.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited to become part of a community that prioritizes compassionate care, mentorship and advocacy. I look forward to working with my co-residents and becoming part of the Grand Rapids community!

Clinical interests: I have a special interest in neonatal intensive care and palliative care but am excited to explore other aspects of pediatrics.

Hobbies: I am currently in my granny hobby phase. I really enjoy quilting, English paper piecing and crochet. I enjoy working with my hands.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? What excites me most about training at Corewell Health in West Michigan is its strong academic foundation and reputation for excellent medical education. I am also excited about the opportunity to live and train in Michigan, which offers exposure to a diverse patient population and healthcare experiences. Additionally, the supportive and collaborative environment at Corewell Health makes it an ideal place to learn, grow, and develop into the best physician I can be.

Clinical interests: My clinical interests include pediatric cardiology and neonatology. I am particularly drawn to congenital heart disease and the care of newborns requiring intensive care. I look forward to developing a strong foundation in general pediatrics during residency while further exploring both fields.

Hobbies: My hobbies include playing padel, singing, going to the gym, and playing video games.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? In addition to having everything I wanted from a residency, I was blown away by Corewell Health's family forward attitude. I have a young daughter and knowing that she and my husband are also important to the program was so refreshing. Every person I have talked to has been encouraging and helpful in so many ways. Everything I learned about the program and its culture has made me very optimistic that my future here is very bright. I can't wait to dig in and get started!

Clinical interests: I haven't decided what I want to do yet, but I love the hospital so I am heavily considering subspecializing in something with a significant amount of hospital time. 

Hobbies: I am an avid crocheter and have been crocheting since my grandma taught me at 7 years old. I also really enjoy reading, board games, video games, acting, singing, Dungeons and Dragons, and various other crafty activities.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am thrilled to be joining the Corewell Health family and beginning this next chapter of my journey in West Michigan. What drew me most to this program was the genuine warmth of the team, the diversity of the patient community, and the opportunity to train in an environment where I can truly grow both clinically and personally. As someone who is new to the Midwest, I am also excited to explore everything Grand Rapids and the surrounding major cities have to offer, from the local food scene to the great outdoors, and to plant roots in a new city that already feels full of possibility.

Clinical interests: My clinical interests lie at the intersection of inpatient hospital medicine, neonatal care, and global health. I am deeply passionate about caring for our most vulnerable pediatric patients, whether that means supporting a newborn through their earliest and most critical days of life or providing compassionate inpatient care for children and families navigating complex illnesses. I am also drawn to underserved and global health, as I believe every child, regardless of geography or circumstance, deserves access to high quality medical care. I hope to spend my career finding meaningful ways to serve communities both locally and abroad.

Hobbies: Outside of medicine, I am a lover of travel, food, and all things creative. I find joy in expressing creativity through my hands, whether that is cooking, baking, crafting, or crocheting. There is something so grounding about making something beautiful from scratch. I also love moving my body and spending time outdoors through walking trails, yoga, and roller skating. I enjoy fashion and interior design as well. At the heart of it all, I am a people person who is energized by community, good conversations, and the moments that remind you how beautiful and full life really is.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I'm excited to learn and grow in an environment that's so supportive of trainees. I look forward to seeing a variety of different patients and conditions at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital, and I think Grand Rapids is an excellent place to live during this time in my life. 

Clinical interests: I'm interested in inpatient pediatric medicine, including hospitalist, emergency medicine and PICU. 

Hobbies: I like to spend time outside, taking walks or playing pickleball. I'm a big reader, especially of historical fiction, and I enjoy cooking and baking.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I was very impressed by my interview experience, as both the faculty and residents were genuinely supportive and welcoming. The program’s size, along with the opportunity to train at a state-of-the-art children’s hospital with access to a diverse range of subspecialties, aligns well with my professional goals and learning preferences. I am especially excited about the prospect of continuously learning, growing, and taking on new challenges in an environment that provides broad exposure to a wide spectrum of disease pathologies. I am also eager to serve the West Michigan community and contribute to improving the health and well-being of children and families in the region.

Clinical interests: I am interested in pursuing a fellowship in pediatric cardiology. 

Hobbies: I enjoy exploring new experiences, whether that means hiking scenic trails, trying new foods and restaurants, or simply spending time outdoors on a walk. I also enjoy weight-training, reading, and stargazing, which allows me to relax and appreciate the world around me.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? Several things excite me about training here. The program's focus on inclusivity, innovation, and impact, along with a robust curriculum, aligns with my goal of becoming a strong advocate for my patients and the surrounding community. Additionally, Grand Rapids is a fast-growing city with lots to offer for art, food, and outdoor recreation. Most importantly, the residents seemed happy and eager to talk about their experience in the program.

Clinical interests: I am interested in hospital medicine in general, but especially neonatology. However, I know I will encounter lots of interesting things during residency, so I'm keeping my mind open. 

Hobbies: Indoor gardening brings me a lot of joy and has led me to having over 60 different houseplants. I am a big fan of movies; there's nothing like going to the theatre. I also enjoy trying out new restaurants.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited to return to my home in West Michigan and give back the community that gave me so much growing up. Additionally, I look forward to working closely with fellow residents, learning from one another, and building meaningful relationships throughout training.

Clinical interests: I have a wide variety of interests I'm excited to continue to explore including gastroenterology, sports medicine, and developmental-behavioral.

Hobbies: I enjoy reading books, sewing, line dancing, horseback riding, cooking, and most importantly playing boardgames with family and friends my favorite being Ticket to Ride!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health? I am very excited to begin my residency at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital because it encompasses everything I envision a children's hospital to be, from the rainbow wall to the colorful mosaics to the ice cream shop located in the lobby. I was blown away by the welcoming atmosphere and how beautiful all of the facilities are, including the new clinic space, simulation lab, and med-psych unit. I am most looking forward to growing into my role as a future pediatrician alongside my fellow co-residents, finally able to serve my favorite patient population!

Clinical interests: I am currently drawn to outpatient subspecialties or general pediatrics, but am open and enthusiastic to learning about all the subspecialties pediatrics has to offer! I am also very passionate about preventative medicine and promoting healthy lifestyles.

Hobbies: During my free time, I enjoy taking barre/pilates classes, trying new restaurants and dessert spots, traveling, watching Penn State sports, taking walks, doing gem art, and playing board games.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I am excited about pursuing my pediatrics residency at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital because of its commitment to patient-centered care and community. From the first interview, I knew this was a place where I would be supported not only as a trainee but also as a person, with faculty and residents who are genuinely invested in each other’s growth and well-being. I was especially drawn to the strong emphasis on advocacy, as well as the opportunity to care for a diverse pediatric population across a wide range of clinical settings. After my in-person visit, where both of these values were further reinforced, I became confident that this is the environment in which I want to train and grow into a well-rounded pediatrician.

Clinical interests: I am primarily interested in outpatient pediatrics, especially preventative medicine and mental health care.  However, I am totally open to exploring other sub-specialties as I train and seeing if my path changes!

Hobbies: I love reading, going on walks, hiking, trying new coffee shops, spending time with friends and family, and playing with my dog, Charlie!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I felt incredibly welcomed in all of my interactions with the program. As someone who couples matched, finding a city that supported both my fiancée and me personally and professionally was essential. Grand Rapids is an exciting, growing city, and the warmth of the program's community made it the perfect place to begin my pediatric journey.

Clinical interests: My primary interest lies in serving underserved communities, and I am drawn to both academic and direct primary care practice models as pathways to do so. I also have a special interest in medical education and teaching, advocacy, osteopathic manipulative medicine, and infant care, though I look forward to letting residency shape and refine these passions.

Hobbies: Outside of residency, I enjoy watching Marvel, building Legos, playing Nintendo games, and spending quality time with my dog.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? One of the things I'm most excited about is the chance to dive into the program’s specialized resources. I’m also truly looking forward to the community aspect—getting to know my co-residents and sharing this journey with them. Starting fresh in Grand Rapids is a big step, and I’m ready to embrace both the professional challenges and the local culture. 

Clinical interests: My clinical interest are pediatric pulmonology and pediatric sleep medicine. I hope to sub-specialize in these fields after completing residency!

Hobbies: My hobbies are playing the violin (when time permits), baking and cooking, exploring new places, and renovating old furniture!

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health? I'm most excited to work and learn in an environment where the faculty are fully invested in both their patients and the resident physicians they are training. From my first interview, I could sense that the team here at Corewell Health in West Michigan and Helen DeVos Children's Hospital carry out medicine with huge hearts, guiding their care for their patients. The size of the program and the hospital is well-suited for my interests, and the atmosphere among the residents was so welcoming that I couldn't wait to be a part of it. Not to mention, the facilities are beautiful!

Clinical interests: At this stage in my career, I still maintain a broad curiosity in many subspecialties of child neurology; however, I do have special interests in neuromuscular, neurodevelopmental, and neuroimmunology.

Hobbies: Most of my hobbies involve the outdoors - rock climbing, hiking, running, and trail biking. I also enjoy concerts, museums, dabbling in art, and spending time with my family.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I'm excited to start building relationships with and caring for my patients. I'm proud to have the opportunity to contribute to the well-being of children and families in West Michigan. I am also looking forward to learning from faculty who have already been so warm and welcoming, while growing alongside my fellow residents.

Clinical interests: My clinical interests are still evolving, but I am currently drawn to pediatric hospital medicine and pediatric emergency medicine. I find it meaningful to support children and their families during some of their most difficult days.

Hobbies: I love reading a wide variety of genres, including romance, suspense, and murder mysteries. I also enjoy spending time with friends, trying new recipes, and going for walks. I'm excited to explore more of West Michigan during residency!
