Who we are

At Corewell Health in West Michigan, we remain at the forefront of medicine by providing educational excellence that fosters innovation.

Through our partnership with Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, Corewell Health in West Michigan offers 39 ACGME-accredited graduate medical education programs, in addition to eight fellowships where ACGME accreditation is not provided. These highly specialized training experiences support resident and fellow physicians striving to meet their individual medical training goals.

While the history of our program is deeply rooted in our medical community, what makes us uniquely special are the people. Here, you will work alongside faculty and health care professionals who are striving to create a future where health is both equitable and exceptional. Together, we provide high-quality patient care that is available to all members of our communities. At Corewell Health in West Michigan, we’re committed to preparing residents and fellows for success through our comprehensive, clinically diverse graduate medical education program. With more than 100 years of innovation and research, our residency and fellowship programs have, and continue to evolve. The exceptional training offered in our unique learning environment allows medical learners to graduate not only as competent physicians, but as well-rounded individuals.   Our mission is to improve health, instill humanity and inspire hope—achieving this begins with each of us. Residents and fellows take part in an incredibly dynamic medical learning experience at Corewell Health in West Michigan. Diverse training opportunities in both urban and rural settings are available to residents and fellows, with access to Butterworth Hospital, Blodgett Hospital, Greenville Hospital, and Pennock Hospital, as well as West Michigan’s largest free-standing children’s hospital, Corewell Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital.
