Our program is fully accredited by the AOA and obtained initial ACGME accreditation in 2018. Hospitals affiliated with our program include

We utilize the EPIC electronic health record system with access to all major hospital medical records in the Detroit area.
Case volume and scope
The residency provides a large surgical volume and variety of cases residents earn an increasing autonomy over the five years of training. In addition to general surgery the residents are exposed to many specialties:
- minimally invasive surgery (laparoscopic and robotic cases)
- trauma/acute care surgery
- thoracic surgery
- vascular surgery
- plastic and hand surgery
- breast surgery
- bariatric surgery
- colorectal surgery
- pediatric surgery
- surgical critical care
Certifications
All residents will become certified in ATLS, BLS/ACLS, FLS, FES
