Neurological Surgery Residency at Dearborn and Royal Oak

The Neurological Surgery Residency at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital and Corewell Health Dearborn Hospital is an accredited 7-year program, beginning at the PGY-1 level, to accommodate 1 Resident/year (7 total). Corewell Health is well-respected nationally for its excellence in patient care and quality. Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital is an ACS designated Level One Trauma Center and is the primary site for the program. Our patient population is a cross-section of the ethnic and socioeconomic classes represented in the metropolitan Detroit area. Most rotations will take place at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, with 25% at Corewell Health Hospital, Dearborn. In addition to general neurosurgery this program includes rotations in Advanced Spine, Anesthesia, Functional and Pain, Neurology, Neuropathology, Neuroradiology and Endovascular, Neurotology, Pediatric I and II, and Skull Base with Stereotactic and Radiosurgery.

Mission statement & aims

The Neurological Surgery Residency Program aims to train outstanding neurosurgeons qualified to go into practice and provide the community they serve above average care to patients with neurological disorders. If the graduate wishes to pursue advanced fellowship training and possibly an academic career, he/she will be prepared to compete and achieve placement in the program of their choosing.
