Welcome and thank you for your interest in the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship program. 

Corewell Health Children’s is a 130-bed tertiary pediatric facility within the larger 1100 bed Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak, Michigan. Our facility derives its pediatric patients from across the state of Michigan and especially from the densely populated urban and suburban communities of Southeast Michigan. The pediatric emergency center at our facility sees 27,000 visits per year. Patients are admitted for higher level of care from our EC and surrounding ECs, transferred from other Corewell Health Hospitals within our system. Our pediatric floor has seventy beds, with pediatric services covering a full complement of pediatric medical and surgical subspecialties. The PHM service at Corewell Health Royal Oak is the primary service for all pediatric medical patients and cares of 90 percent of inpatient admissions to Corewell Health Children's. The range of clinical diagnosis and experiences includes the full spectrum of acute childhood illnesses, surgical co-management, and consultations on neurosurgical, ENT, orthopedic, ophthalmology, urology patients and complex chronic illnesses across all pediatric specialties. 

The mission of Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital Pediatric Hospital Medicine Fellowship program is to train compassionate, humanistic, and proficient pediatric hospital medicine experts who are leaders, educators and advocates in patient safety, quality improvement, and high value evidence-based family-centered care for a diverse patient population in urban and suburban settings while addressing social determinants of health and advancing scholarship to improve care of all children.    

This fellowship program provides comprehensive training in a supportive and collaborative educational environment. The resources of Corewell Health Children's at William Beaumont University Hospital, a large tertiary referral center in Royal Oak, Michigan, Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine, and the supervision and mentorship of dedicated pediatric hospital medicine faculty, will ensure a rich learning experience for our fellows.
