The colon and rectal surgery fellowship at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital provides comprehensive clinical training at one of the nation’s premier hospitals. Training includes:

  • Open, laparoscopic, and robotic surgery
  • Colonoscopy
  • Comprehensive cancer care
  • Management of diverticular disease, IBD, anorectal conditions, and all other benign pathology involving the colon, rectum, and anus
  • Anal and pelvic floor physiology, pathology, and treatment
  • Multidisciplinary Tumor Board
  • Fellow Clinic

Mission statement

The core purpose of the program is to provide fellows with rigorous training that is focused on excellent surgical care, quality improvement, and research. The program serves the residents of Southeast Michigan and beyond, and adheres to the overall hospital system’s principle of compassionate and safe care for all patients.

Aims

The aim of the program is to train colorectal surgery fellows to become safe, competent, and compassionate surgeons. Additional aims include producing future leaders in the field of colon and rectal surgery and stimulating impactful research that improves the quality of care for our patients.
