The gastroenterology fellowship at Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital is a three-year comprehensive learning experience in the field of gastroenterology. The goal of our fellowship program is to prepare fellows for a career in clinical practice in a community setting, emphasizing consultative and endoscopic skills. Fellows are expected to participate in clinical or quality improvement research projects, to present their research at regional and national meetings, and to publish their findings. The three-year fellowship is designed to provide the trainee with an excellent background in pathophysiology and management of gastrointestinal illness and liver disease, as well as extensive experience and expertise in gastrointestinal endoscopy and non-endoscopic procedures. In addition to this training our affiliation with outside institutions also provide a breadth of learning in the areas of hepatology, inflammatory bowel disease, and advanced endoscopy.
