Grief healing and education

Mission: To provide hope and strength for every grieving person.

Vision: To provide grief support services for grieving children, adults, and families.

Lory’s Place offers support for grieving adults, children, and families in Southwest Michigan and northern Indiana. We support the needs of those who grieve, providing a safe space for healing after the death of a loved one. Lory’s Place also provides community outreach programs, staff education, crisis response, and peer support groups for schools.

Peer support groups

Lory's Place provides regularly scheduled support group sessions for children and adults, allowing interaction with peers who have experienced similar losses, allowing them to feel less alone.

For children:

  • Preschool/Kindergarten (ages 3-5)
  • Elementary
  • Middle school & high school

For adults:

  • Death of someone significant, regardless of the cause
  • Homicide loss
  • Miscarriage, still-birth, and infant death within the first year of life
  • Substance-related loss
  • Suicide loss

Additional opportunities:

  • Facilitate regular peer group sessions at local schools
  • Support area schools and businesses during times of community crisis or tragedy

Reach out if you need help. We will ask for your contact information and details of the deceased. You can walk in, call 269.983.2707, or contact us. Our bereavement coordinator will determine if Lory’s Place is right for you and/or your family.
