Decoding the path to better health

Your child’s genes provide the basic set of instructions their body needs to develop and function. They are responsible for all the inherited characteristics that make them unique. But they can also be responsible for genetic diseases or increasing their risk of developing certain health conditions later in life.

At Corewell Health Children’s, our pediatric genetics team provides evaluation, counseling, and treatment for kids who have or are suspected of having a genetic condition due to their symptoms or their family history. If a diagnosis is made, we will provide you and your child with the knowledge, treatment, and support you need to make informed health care decisions.

Conditions we evaluate

We provide testing and evaluation for many conditions directly caused by genetic abnormalities or by complex interactions between genetics and other factors.

Services we provide

Our pediatric genetics team has expertise in a wide range of testing, counseling, and treatment services so children and families can better understand their condition or risk-factors and make an informed plan for management and monitoring.
