About us

Thank you for your interest in our institution and its ACGME accredited graduate medical education programs. Corewell Health Lakeland is located in Southwest Michigan in Berrien County and is the primary healthcare system serving patients from five surrounding counties. Corewell Health Lakeland is a not-for-profit community health system consisting of two acute care hospitals, one in St. Joseph and one in Niles.

Nationally recognized for delivering an exceptional patient experience, Corewell Health Lakeland has received multiple awards in the areas of cardiovascular intervention, pulmonary medicine, clinical outcomes, and patient safety. Our mission is to provide superior health and medical services to meet patients’ needs in the state and the region.

An affiliate of Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, a regional campus of Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine and Central Michigan University College of Medicine, our physicians are eager to share their knowledge and skills with residents and students. On-site lectures and educational facilities, including an accredited simulation training center, combine with connectivity to Michigan State University’s vast medical education resources create an excellent clinical learning environment.
