Student Audition Rotation

About

Our ophthalmology residency program offers student audition rotations within our program at our various offices associated with the program.  These 2-week rotations will provide students both exposure and experience in various disciplines of ophthalmology spanning from inpatient care and outpatient care, acute care and operative settings.

We do not offer third year elective rotations in our ophthalmology program.

Rotation request form

  • Complete and submit the rotation request form. Guidelines for applying and required documents are listed below. Please do not send incomplete requests
  • Please allow us 2 weeks for approval. We will reach back out to you via email
  • Submit all required documents to the residency program manager Martha Clemens at martha.clemens@corewellhealth.org

Audition season

  • Corewell Health Taylor Ophthalmology applications for 4th year audition rotations open every year from February 1st, and close at the end of February. No additional applications will be accepted after the end of February unless we have openings
  • Corewell Health Taylor Ophthalmology audition rotations run from first Monday after July 4th to approximately the end of the 1st week of November and should be scheduled within this period to be considered an audition (see rotation request form for dates)
  • An invitation for an audition rotation does NOT in any way guarantee an interview spot

Required documents

  •  A letter from your medical school stating that you are a student in good standing.
  • A current copy of your certificate of liability insurance
  • Documentation of a current TB test (within the past calendar year)
  • Documentation of influenza vaccine (only required between November – April)
  • A copy of your government issued identification - photographs are not acceptable
  • School transcripts to date
  • COMLEX-USA scores or USMLE scores

Please Note:

  • No failed classes on transcripts
  • We DO NOT sponsor any Visa’s – you must be a permanent resident/U.S. citizen or hold a green card
  • Applicants who did not pass on 1st attempt of COMLEX Level 1 and/or USMLE Step 1 will not be considered for a rotation
