Tracy was born and raised in Lebanon, along the mediterranean coast. Most of her early education followed the official French curriculum, however she chose to pursue her undergraduate studies in biology at the American University of Beirut, where she also completed her medical doctorate degree. She first showed interest in radiation oncology when her father developed unilateral deafness 12 years after his mastoid bone radiation treatment. She then spent a year working with the radiation oncology department of her home institution. She completed her internship at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital. In her spare time, Tracy is passionate about mental health and enjoys working out at the gym, listening to music, traveling, and going back home to spend time with family and friends.
Jacob Oyeniyi, MD

Medical school: University of Ilorin
Jacob was raised in Jos, Nigeria. He earned his medical degree from the University of Ilorin and subsequently underwent clinical oncology training at Nigeria’s National Hospital. During this time, he participated in a year-long clinical research program in collaboration with faculty from the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. Jacob completed his internship at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital. He is committed to teaching and to research aimed at reducing cancer mortality and improving quality of life, with a focus on innovative applications of radiation therapy, both as a standalone modality and in combination with emerging systemic therapies. Outside of his professional pursuits, he enjoys spending time with his family, music, and exploring topics in economics and history.
Ebin Sebastian, MD

Medical school: All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi
Ebin Sebastian was born and raised in the picturesque state of Kerala, India, nestled along the Arabian Sea coastline. He pursued his medical education at All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Delhi. Following his time at AIIMS, Ebin ventured to Ohio State University for post-doctoral research in glioblastoma, which led him to develop a keen interest in radiation oncology. This passion stemmed from the field's unique combination of medicine, physics, and technology, providing him with the tools necessary to offer cutting-edge and personalized care to his patients.
In addition to his medical pursuits, Ebin has always had a deep appreciation for nature and the great outdoors. He enjoys spending his free time hiking through scenic landscapes and exploring new trails. Moreover, Ebin also hones his culinary skills in the kitchen, where he delights in experimenting with diverse flavors and creating delicious meals for friends and family.
Spencer Liu, DO

Undergraduate: San Francisco State University
Spencer Liu was born and raised in Taiwan and went to undergrad at San Francisco State University to study cell and molecular biology and chemistry. He spent a few years in the field of children education and scientific research after his undergraduate study before developing his interest in theology and philosophy, which led him to do a graduate study at FTTA in Anaheim, CA for his theology and philosophy training. His medical education at Campbell University School of Osteopathic Medicine in North Carolina further cultivates his passion to care for cancer patients. With his background in spiritual wellness and holistic medicine, he is interested in cancer survivorship focusing on lifestyle medicine and palliative care. He is also interested in immunotherapy in combination with radiotherapy and their future application to treat metastatic cancers. He enjoys working on his cars during his time off and exploring new recipes to fulfill his home chef and home mechanic dreams.
Yastira Ramdas, MD

Medical school: Medical University of Southern Africa
Yastira Ramdas, born and raised in South Africa, has a strong education and commitment to serve. After earning her bachelor's of medicine and surgery from the Medical University of Southern Africa, diploma in pediatrics from the College of Medicine (SA), master's in medicine from the University of Witwatersrand and being a Harvard alumnus, Yastira completed her radiation oncology residency at the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and worked in private practice for six years. Yastira feels grateful for treating a substantial patient base and is dedicated to continually learning and advancing the field. Currently, Yastira is working on her PhD investigating immunological-led cancer therapies and is proud of her published research papers. As a principal investigator at the South African site for the Global TARGIT-B IORT trial in the UK, she is committed to finding new ways to treat cancer.
As a resident at Corewell Health, Yastira humbly provides quality care to cancer patients using her knowledge and skills to deliver effective treatments. With a compassionate bedside manner, she strives to become a knowledgeable radiation oncologist. Yastira believes caring for a cancer patient involves supporting the person and giving them hope for a brighter future.
Nadine Tayeb, MD

Undergraduate: University of Michigan - Ann Arbor
Nadine Tayeb was born in Springfield, Illinois, and moved to Michigan when she was one year old. Although she grew up in the Midwest, she spent her summers in Syria, where she was able to visit family and learn how to speak Arabic fluently—an integral and cherished part of her identity. She completed her medical education at Michigan State University College of Human Medicine, following her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. Inspired by her optimistic nature and passion for serving vulnerable patient populations, Nadine aspires to become a compassionate radiation oncologist, dedicated to providing support and comfort to patients and their families during their most challenging moments. She is drawn to the people and the welcoming culture of this residency program, which truly feels like home. Outside of medicine, Nadine enjoys coffee shop hopping, working out, traveling exploring new restaurants around the city, and playing board games with her family.
Robert Ezra Dixon, MD

Undergraduate: The University of Utah
Robert Ezra Dixon was born in Lubbock, Texas where he spent his childhood playing in the fields and open spaces of small-town West Texas. As a teenager he moved to Ogden Utah where he developed his love of the mountains and the outdoors. He is an experienced rock climber, mountaineer, canyoner, and all-around outdoors adventurer. He attended the University of Utah where he got a degree in Middle East Studies and Arabic. He then returned to Lubbock, Texas to pursue medicine where he found a love of oncology. After a one-year internship in general surgery he joined the team at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in radiation oncology. He is most interested in the procedural components of radiation oncology and has been enjoying the robust exposure to brachytherapy that Corwell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has to offer.
Xi Cao, MD

Medical school: Peking University
Xi Cao, originally from the warm, humid landscapes of southern China, discovered her passion for medicine at an early age. She pursued her education through the joint undergraduate/MD program at Peking University, Beijing, where she completed her medical training. During medical school, she became fascinated by radiation oncology, drawn to its seamless integration of advanced technology, clinical translation, and the ever-evolving practice of evidence-based medicine. Now a radiation oncology resident at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital, she is dedicated to refining her clinical skills to provide exceptional care to her patients.
Outside of medicine, Xi enjoys oil painting, cooking, crafting, gardening, traveling, and playing video games. She likes sharing her homegrown vegetables when she has a good harvest.
Jack Slagis, MD

Medical school: Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine
Jack Slagis is from Tucson, Arizona. During undergrad at Vanderbilt University, he majored in molecular and cellular biology and economics. After medical school at Western Michigan University, he completed an internal medicine internship at Henry Ford Warren Hospital before starting his radiation oncology residency. He appreciates radiation oncology because it offers the opportunities to care for cancer patients and to use technology to minimize the harm from definitive therapy. Outside of work, he enjoys playing pickleball with Robert and trying new snacks with Xi.
Alex Purut, DOAlex Purut was born and raised in Hickory, North Carolina. Before medical school, he went to college at North Carolina State University where he received a bachelor's and master's of mechanical engineering. While at WVSOM, he found and pursued radiation oncology because of the great blend of hardware, software, and clinical medicine. He was attracted to William Beaumont University Hospital in particular for its broad range of technical offerings for the delivery of radiation treatment and the supportive staff that make learning the focus of residency. Using his background, he hopes to help bring forward the best technology and clinical care for his patients both today and in the future.
When Alex has free time, he enjoys spending time cooking/trying new food, skiing, and building automations/mechatronics projects. He also enjoys hanging out with friends/co-residents both on and off work. He always has a new or developing passion project that he is happy to talk about.
Dina Elhabashy, MDDina was born and raised in Egypt, where she completed medical school followed by a residency in clinical oncology at Menoufia University Hospital. She went on to earn her master’s degree and became board certified in clinical oncology in her home country. She came to the United States through a competitive scholarship to pursue a PhD in radiation oncology at MD Anderson Cancer Center. Committed to continual growth in her field, Dina later applied for and matched into a radiation oncology residency, joining Corewell Health as a resident physician. Outside of medicine, she enjoys cooking, spending time with friends, and exploring new places.
