The pathology residency program has one of the largest volumes of surgical and clinical pathology specimens in the country, but operates with a small class size; accepting only 3 new residents each year. The small program size, coupled with the high volume of complex and diverse cases provides for a unique approach to resident education. This affords for a more personalized approach with faculty allowing for optimal supervision, attention, and guidance. Our high volume affords the residents continuous exposure to a plethora of complex and challenging cases. Our high volume of community outreach material also ensures extensive exposure to biopsies an routine surgical cases as well. Our department also offers fellowship training in cytopathology, hematopathology, chemical pathology, and transfusion medicine.
