An annual event organized & hosted by Dr. Rolain, this program brings together practitioners in various practice models (academic, solo or multispecialty groups, private equity, etc.), contract lawyers, financial representatives, and residents from our program and all programs in Michigan are invited.
Annual meeting of ophthalmologists in Michigan held on Mackinac Island. Residents are chosen to present research projects and interesting cases. Great to see current, former faculty, and residents. Not to mention so many alums as speakers!

Several events are held in honor of our seniors throughout the year – fellowship match dinners, graduation breakfasts and dinners (we apparently like to eat together a lot).

Each winter, Dr. DiLorenzo hosts a dinner for the residents at the Detroit Athletic Club.
Dr. Stec is big into baking and hosts an annual private class for all the residents and fellows at Zingerman's Bakehouse (she even covers the call pager). So far, residents have hands-on experience making pasta, pizza, pretzel, and brownies.
Residents have the opportunity to participate in private yoga sessions with Michelle Akler, MD (Ophthalmologist who is certified in Iyengar Yoga & is focused on the ergonomics of Ophthalmic practice & surgery) in a studio in Royal Oak.
