My time at Corewell Health Farmington Hills shaped me into a well-rounded and well-prepared family physician. This program is full of great faculty who care both about your education and also about you as a person. The camaraderie of the residents is unmatched. Everyone is willing to lend a hand and help out when needed. I felt extremely well prepared for practice after graduation and would choose this program for my training over and over again. 

Corewell Health Farmington Hills residency provided me some of the most impactful memories in my life, including both professionally and personally. Not only do I feel extremely prepared to practice primary care, I also established some lifelong relationships that will extend even beyond residency. The attendings deeply cared about us becoming the best physicians we can be, and I genuinely enjoyed going into the clinic and hospital every day. From managing chronic conditions to learning common procedures that are done in the clinic, the well-rounded and rigorous curriculum truly makes this residency one of the best! I wouldn't have changed my experience for anything, and I would choose this residency program each and every time.

I had the honor of training at the Corewell Health Farmington Hills Family Medicine Program — and if I had to go through the residency selection process again, I would choose this program every time. One of its greatest strengths is the incredible camaraderie between faculty, residents, and staff. Everyone puts in genuine effort to foster a positive, supportive learning environment where we felt safe to grow, ask questions, and learn from our mistakes.

Under the leadership of Dr. Sebastian, an exceptional program director, the curriculum is thoughtfully designed to meet the academic and professional goals of residents. The entire faculty lead by example and played an important role in shaping the physician I am today. As a proud graduate and former chief resident, I can confidently say that the training I received has fully prepared me for the responsibilities of a family medicine attending.

My experience at Corewell Health East Farmington Hills has been nothing short of transformative. From the moment I stepped into the program, I felt supported. The camaraderie amongst my co-residents fostered a collaborative learning environment where we shared knowledge and experiences, pushing each other to grow and yet still found time to have fun! Dr. Sebastian, Dr. Craib, Dr. DeLand and Dr. Leikert are amazing mentors and truly prioritize the residents' wellbeing and education. They allowed me to grow as a physician and as an individual as they provided invaluable guidance and encouragement throughout my training. Their holistic osteopathic approach to patient care is something I will always admire and carry with me! I would choose this program again in a heartbeat!

The family medicine program at Farmington Hills left me well prepared for my experience after graduation. I felt confident in not on my medical knowledge, but also in practice management including billing. I could not have asked for a better program or hospital to train at for three years.

The program offers excellent training especially for those interested in an outpatient focused career. You will be able to build your own patient panel and develop your style of practicing medicine. The faculty always had the residents' backs and took our feedback seriously, and are constantly coming up with new ways to make things even better. Our program manager is super clutch and bailed me out when I accidentally left things to the last minute (please don't do this). I miss everyone there! I could not have asked to train at a better program under the most intelligent, compassionate attendings and alongside such a hardworking, supportive group of co-residents. The family medicine residency at Corewell Health Farmington Hills prepared me to be a well-rounded family physician not only by allowing me to take care of a diverse and complicated patient population but also giving me the opportunity to perform a variety of in-office procedures and OMT. I would choose our program over and over again, and I feel extremely confident in my abilities as a family physician because of my training. We truly are the #BRE (best residency ever)!

Hi applicants, I am in my first year of "attendinghood" and I wanted to share that Corewell Farmington Hills is a fantastic place to train. I am only a few months in but I feel well prepared for most patients I see and if I don't know the answers, I know where to go (most often UpToDate and AAFP and colleagues) but there is always the specialists as well. The program prepares you well I believe with the patient population the residency clinic serves, the array of rotations that you have and I would say the greatest strength is the faculty you get to train with that are not only incredible physicians, but also care about investing in making you the best family practice physician that you can be. Without a doubt, I would choose Corewell Farmington Hills again.

My three years here have been some of the best I've ever had. I don't know if I would have been as happy or have gotten as much out of any other program. I’ll be working at a clinic in Auburn, Washington.

I feel that Corewell Health Farmington Hills is the best training you can get for family medicine. Not only does the residency have excellent academic standards and the residents nationally perform on the board exams, the leadership works side by side with each resident physician on an individualized basis to make sure they are as successful as possible. Not only that, the focus on business training and quality of care education takes this program to a whole new level. I didn't realize the value of the training as much as I did when I started my position as an attending physician - I have never been more prepared for a position in my life. If you're considering this program, I promise you will not be making a mistake - go for it and don't look back.

I am forever grateful for my experience at Corewell Health Farmington Hills. I can’t thank my residency program enough for preparing me to be the best well-rounded family physician I can be. The knowledge and skillset I have gained through my residency education have set me up for success, and I am confident I wouldn’t have been able to get them through another program. I met amazing physicians and colleagues throughout my journey and have gained lifelong friends from my time at the Family Medicine residency program. I really did gain a second family, and will always remember this amazing time in my life.

My time as an FM resident at Corewell Health Farmington Hills has been the most beneficial educational experience of my life. Led by Dr Sebastian, a captain with wisdom beyond his years, the attendings who run the residency clinic are all great role models and true masters of their craft. The best part of residency was the diversity in training, and our ability to tailor rotations (around core requirements) to our interests in outpatient medicine. I consider myself lucky to join the alumni of FVFP, and hope to always be involved in the program that helped me become a confident competent osteopath.
