Scope of Service

The sports medicine fellowship program provides a broad exposure to athletic injuries and all related conditions affecting the knee, shoulder and elbow. Included among the most common conditions treated by the faculty are

Shoulder

  • Instability (arthroscopic and open labral repairs, bone block procedures)
  • Rotator cuff tears
  • Biceps related issues
  • Throwing shoulder conditions
  • Shoulder replacement surgery
  • Trauma and fractures of the proximal humerus and shoulder girdle

Elbow

  • Ulnar collateral ligament and throwing injuries
  • Biceps repair
  • Arthritis
  • Instability
  • Contracture management

Knee

  • Ligamentous injuries (ACL, PCL, PLC, multi-ligament)
  • Articular cartilage lesions
  • Meniscal tears or deficiency (including meniscal transplantations)
  • Arthritis and malalignment
  • Patellofemoral realignment
  • Sports fractures
