Uneasy about your colon screening?

Colorectal cancer awareness month

You have better things to worry about.

If you’re turning 45, or older and have never been screened for colon cancer, you’re due.

Medical specialists agree, a colonoscopy is still the gold standard for detecting and preventing colon cancer. Any nerves or worry beforehand should not put off this life-saving test. Many people have said going through a colonoscopy was much easier than they thought. And depending on the results and other risk factors, this quick 30-minute procedure might not be needed again for 5 to 10 years.

You will need a doctor’s order or referral to schedule a colonoscopy. Let us help. See below for details based on where you live.

You have options.

There are different tests to detect colon and rectal cancer. Your doctor may have already ordered and mailed you an at-home stool (feces) test. Check the dates and complete the test. If you would like a Cologuard® or other fecal occult blood tests (FOBT), talk to your doctor about this preference. If you do not have a health care provider, you can request a Cologuard kit online.
