
Ryan leads a high-performing team of fundraising professionals dedicated to advancing Corewell Health’s nonprofit mission through philanthropic and community partnerships. The Foundation raises more than $35 million annually to support patient care, research, advanced technologies, community health initiatives and clinician education.
With over 25 years of professional experience, Ryan has held a variety of leadership roles in philanthropy from health care to higher education to the foundation sector. Prior to his current role, Ryan served as vice president for university advancement at John Carroll University, launching the largest campaign in its history. Previously, he was part of the Beaumont Health Foundation team for over a decade that raised more than $300 million. He also served as Director of Alumni Relations and Director of Development at John Carroll University, and with FADICA (Foundation & Donors Interested in Catholic Activities, Inc.) in Washington, DC. Ryan is a graduate of the University of Detroit Jesuit High School & Academy and John Carroll University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree and MBA. Following undergraduate work, Ryan served as a volunteer for two years with Jesuit Volunteers International in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Ryan is active in the community having served as a youth soccer coach, and on numerous community boards and professional organizations including the Health Management Academy, the Association for Healthcare Philanthropy, and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
