Costa focuses on clinical initiatives supporting quality improvement, program management and the development of value-based care initiatives. He oversees strategic planning, culture building, financial performance, and physician and advanced practice provider recruitment and engagement.

Prior to Corewell Health, Costa served as president of The Christ Hospital Physicians and chief clinical officer of The Christ Hospital Network in Ohio. He earned his medical degrees from the University of Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, South Africa, an MBA from Duke University and a Certificate in Health Sector Management from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business. He is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and continues limited clinical practice in cardiology.
