Emergency Medicine Residency at Farmington Hills

The Emergency Medicine Residency at Corewell Health Farmington Hills is a three-year program designed to develop residents into mature, responsible emergency medicine specialists who provide and plan quality emergency health services. The emergency medicine residency training program at Corewell Health Farmington Hills began in 1985 as Botsford Hospital and is one of the oldest and longest-running EM residency programs in the country

Our mission is to train Emergency Medicine Residents to provide excellent and quality health care to all in a diverse community. The Corewell Health Farmington Hills Hospital Emergency Medicine Residency Program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience that prepares physicians to meet the demands of contemporary emergency medicine practice in urban and suburban community hospitals.

Our department serves a diverse patient population from both Oakland and Wayne County. Due to our unique location we serve both an urban and suburban patient population, which allows our residents to see a wide range of pathology.

  • Standards for training are set by the Accreditation Council on Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
  • Through supervision and continual evaluation, we monitor the progress of our residents and graduate emergency physicians that can practice in any setting
  • Residents are qualified and eligible for certification by the American Board of Emergency Medicine (ABEM) and American Osteopathic Board of Emergency Medicine
