The Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellowship Program at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital is a comprehensive, two-year program equipping the trainee to be highly proficient in all aspects of the electrophysiology career.

As part of the training, the trainee will be utilizing state-of-the-art mapping systems and catheters in diagnosing and treating a wide range of cardiac dysrhythmias, implanting cardiac dysrhythmia devices, preparing for and presenting a wide spectrum of EP topics in weekly conferences, getting rigorously trained in intracardiac interpretations, and conducting clinical research with recently released or in-trial cutting-edge technology.

Mission

Our mission is to train Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology Fellows (CCEP) to provide compassionate, extraordinary care to a diverse population. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience that prepares physicians to meet the demands of contemporary clinical cardiac electrophysiology practice in urban and suburban community hospitals. Fellows learn to provide patient-and-family-centered care, contributing to the health and well-being of patients throughout the community. Our aim is to help our graduates reach their goals and develop the skills they can use throughout their careers.

Aims

  • To prepare physicians for the practice of clinical cardiac electrophysiology by teaching the skills, knowledge, and humanistic qualities that constitute the foundations clinical cardiac electrophysiology practice
  • To responsibly diagnose, treat, manage, and provide education to patients related to clinical cardiac electrophysiology within the communities we serve
  • To provide progressive responsibility for and experience to enable effective management of clinical problems in a busy tertiary hospital, a busy suburban hospital and outpatient settings
  • To prepare graduates who are capable of autonomously practicing clinical cardiac electrophysiology, providing patient-and-family-centered care
  • To promote lifelong learning of new skills and knowledge by teaching how to assess and interpret medical evidence in the literature, and apply it to a single patient or population during their careers
  • To develop physicians able to monitor their own physical and mental well-being
