Corewell Health Lakeland has been a base hospital for MSU-COM since 2010. Our physicians are eager to share their knowledge and skills with students. The abundance of resources provided by our residency programs, on-site lectures, education facilities including an accredited simulation training center, create an excellent clinical learning environment. Our low student-to-faculty ratios assure to provide students with a quality learning experience.
MSUCOM has developed an innovative Core Clinical Concepts, or C3, program to further develop medical students clinical skills. The C3 curriculum includes clinical education through student online self-preparation and classroom instruction at the student’s base hospital. This didactic curriculum includes symptom-based topics that may relate to multiple specialties.

Why I chose Lakeland: It is a hospital that functions in many respects like a tertiary care center but is located in a small community with great access to the outdoors and excellent school systems.
Dr. Hysell currently teaches residents/interns at all levels along with medical students and is also an Emergency Medicine physician at CHL.
