The hematopathology fellowship program in the Department of Clinical Pathology is located on the Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital campus, where clinical pathology occupies more than 50,000 square feet and performs over 16,000,000 in-house procedures yearly. Clinical Pathology is staffed by 13 pathologists (including 9 board-certified hematopathologists) and 8 PhDs. The main laboratories that are incorporated into the hematopathology fellowship include:
The fellows will not only obtain practical experience in laboratory testing, trouble shooting and test interpretation, but also participate in varying aspects of laboratory management and quality control within these laboratories.
The learning environment in the hematopathology fellowship is one that encourages questions, collaboration, and independent thinking. The curriculum is supported by a diverse faculty and resident body where an open-door policy is the rule, not the exception. Corewell Health is committed to the health and wellness of all residents and fellows. Our director of physician wellness works with residents and fellows to address their needs for continued well-being, support, education, resource development, and preventative programming.
