The maternal-fetal medicine fellowship at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital offers a three-year fellowship-training program, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education and accepts one fellow each academic year.

Mission

Our mission is to train maternal-fetal medicine physicians to provide compassionate, extraordinary care to a diverse population. The program provides comprehensive training to be able to act as a consultant in maternal-fetal medicine, to perform advanced fetal ultrasound, and to learn research design and execution. Fellows provide patient- and family-centered care to contribute to the safety and well-being of pregnant women throughout the community.

Aims

  • To prepare fellows with the medical knowledge and consultation skills to act as expert consultants for obstetric medical complications, providing patient-and-family-centered care
  • To train fellows to perform advanced fetal ultrasound imaging and procedural techniques
  • To teach research study design and execution while learning statistical analysis concepts
  • To prepare fellows to educate and teach other medical professionals in the field of obstetrics
  • To provide progressive responsibility for the care of pregnant women with medical complications
  • To encourage physicians to continually monitor their own physical and mental well-being
