Residency training history

The ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital has been training residents since 1977. Each year, the department of pharmaceutical services accepts six new PGY1 pharmacy residents into the program. Our department also offers a 2-year non-traditional PGY1 residency program (started in 2013) to pharmacists who have been employed in our department. The PGY2 administration program has had 9 previous graduates that are currently practicing in various leadership roles across 6 states. Our new PGY1/PGY2 HSPAL program combines the best of our established clinical training to provide a strong clinical foundation to develop a well-rounded leader for the future of the profession.
