What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? During my residency at Corewell Health in West Michigan, I will have the opportunity to work in an environment that's filled with mentors and peers with whom I've already formed strong bonds with. These relationships offer a deep well of personal and professional support that is invaluable. Additionally, being able to stay in West Michigan means maintaining lifelong connections with friends and family and serving the communities that shaped me. This personal commitment to the area adds a layer of significance to the work I'll be doing, making my residency not only a career milestone but also a personal journey of giving back to the place I call home.

What are your clinical interests? As I continue in the diagnostic radiology program, my clinical interests center on how different disease processes appear across various imaging modalities. Although I am uncertain about which subspecialty of radiology I want to pursue, I find magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) particularly intriguing because we can gather a multitude of data based on the sequences obtained.

Hobbies: I'm a self described foodie. One of my ultimate life goals is to travel the world and to try and many cuisines as possible. Otherwise spend most of my free time playing a variety of videogames, listening to music, and reading, or listening to audiobooks. Exercise is another important hobby and essential for balance and wellbeing. I particularly enjoy lifting weights and taking long walks.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? I was originally interested in Corewell Health because of its location in West Michigan. Grand Rapids is special because it has all the advantages of living in a big city, but with close proximity to Lake Michigan, Manistee National Forest and countless other options to enjoy the Michigan outdoors. However, I quickly learned that the people and culture at Corewell Health in West Michigan are what make it a truly special place. When you combine all of these qualities with the beautiful campus, the resources provided by the affiliation with MSU and the massive radiology case volume, I can't imagine a better place to complete my residency training.

Clinical interests: I am counting on the next five years to narrow down my broad clinical interests within the field of radiology.

Hobbies: My hobbies include, camping, hiking, running, snowboarding, and basically anything outdoors. I also love board games, playing guitar, collecting and listening to records, going to concerts, and just generally having a good time. All of the aforementioned are best when my wife and son are included.

What excites you about your residency/fellowship at Corewell Health in West Michigan? Corewell Health in West Michigan is one of the few programs in Michigan with onsite pediatrics radiology rotation; residents will be exposed to pediatrics images throughout the course of their training. Importantly, my family is settled in Michigan and I am so excited to be home with them.

Clinical interests: My clinical interests are cardiothoracic and neuroradiology however, I'm still open to other options depending on my experience during rotations.

Hobbies: I am a mom, so I love doing activities that involve my children. I love to swim and play tennis and I enjoy listening to Afro instrumental beats. Additionally, I love to cook African cuisines.

Why did you choose Corewell Health? I chose diagnostic radiology for its combination of academic and private practice environments, high case volume and diversity, and a supportive culture that includes both clinical excellence and work-life balance. Its location near my hometown also allows me to stay connected to family and community, which is important to me.

Clinical interests: My primary interest lies in pursuing a fellowship in neuroradiology. My undergraduate studies in neuroscience and philosophy, my basic science research in brain-heart communication, and my previous clinical publications in otolaryngology have all shaped my decision to pursue neuroradiology. At the same time, I also want to keep developing strong general and emergency radiology skills. Beyond clinical practice, I am interested in the business and entrepreneurial aspects of medicine, and I am passionate about mentorship and education for future trainees.

Hobbies: Outside of medicine, I enjoy spending time with my wife and children, as well as outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, and kayaking. I actively study and teach classical Arabic and Islamic texts. I’m also engaged in learning about financial markets, with interests in stock trading, cryptocurrency, and real estate investment. I enjoy home improvement projects, staying up to date with innovative technology, and maintaining a regular spiritual practice, including mentoring others on their personal journeys.

Why did you choose Corewell Health? Corewell Health in West Michigan offers its residents the chance to see a high volume of acute, rare, and complex cases. We rotate through all radiology subspecialties and have lots of opportunities to learn procedures. We get to do many rotations at Helen DeVos Children's Hospital. Also, I cannot speak more highly of our transitional year.

Clinical interests: I am interested in breast radiology and OB/GYN imaging.

Hobbies: I enjoy reading, solving jigsaw puzzles, and knitting.

Grand Rapids is also a wonderful city to live in with plenty of fun things to do in your free time.

Clinical interests: I am interested in body imaging because it covers a wide breadth of pathology and requires a very expansive knowledge of radiology. I hope to make a difference in patient lives by making efficient and accurate diagnoses for early treatment and intervention.

Hobbies: I enjoy being active including running, cycling, weightlifting, and golf, as well as spending time with my family in Michigan.

Why did you choose Corewell Health for your residency/fellowship? My wife and I have been practicing physicians in the Grand Rapids area for a few years now. We love West Michigan and the opportunities it provides. She thoroughly enjoyed her experience as a Corewell Health resident and felt very well-prepared for her career. When I made the decision to change fields of medicine and needed to complete a new residency, I knew I could get well-rounded, high-level training here at Corewell Health. It was a no-brainer.

What are your clinical interests? I am pursuing the field of musculoskeletal radiology, including interventional techniques.

Hobbies: I continue to practice and coach men's gymnastics. When my wife and I get a chance to get away on a trip, we love to go hiking, and backpacking.

Why did you choose Corewell Health for your residency/fellowship? Much of my medical school clinical training was done in Corewell Health offices and I wanted to continue here throughout residency as well! Corewell Health has a smart, caring and inclusive staff and I am confident that it will be a great place to be a resident.

What are your clinical interests? I am interested in improving patient care through all imaging modalities and I look forward to finding my radiological niche at Corwell Health.

Hobbies: I enjoy running, biking, skiing, spending time with my friends, and renovating a new-to-us 1928 home with my husband.
