Hometown: Iowa City, Iowa

Medical school: Roy J. and Lucille A. Carver College of Medicine

Why did you choose Corewell Health for your residency/fellowship? I first became interested in Corewell Health and Helen DeVos Children's hospital when I heard from fellows and attendings who had fallen in love with the program and Grand Rapids itself. Looking into it myself, I was excited to learn more about the child neurology program and the fantastic providers here. This was reinforced on my interview day, where even with virtual interviews I could tell that everyone at Corewell Health is passionate about providing outstanding care and nurturing residents as providers and individuals.

What are your clinical interests? I am most interested in forming long-term relationships with patients and their families. I enjoy working with patients across the child neurology spectrum, whether it is migraines, epilepsy, developmental concerns, and everything in between.

Hobbies: I tend to be a homebody. I recharge by spending time with my wife, son, dog, and our extended family. We enjoy playing board games, tabletop games, video games, playing in the backyard, and watching movies. I occasionally have time to fit in some reading as well.
