EM residents work alongside Ironman 70.3 Steelhead Triathlon medical director, Dr. Chris Trigger, providing care in the medical tent and aid to triathletes throughout the day. Residents cover all aspects of the race starting with the swim in Lake Michigan. They then move to transition, bike course and the finish line for further medical assistance if needed. Once in the medical tent, residents take care of triathletes for medical emergencies post-race. Sports Medicine Track residents serve as the Assistant Medical Director of this event.
EM residents work with EMS medical director, Dr. Jonathan Beyer, and the racing medical teams to take care of injured racers at RedBud Motocross. Additionally residents provide aid to spectators and visitors at the event, treating a variety of environmental and toxicologic emergencies. EMS Track residents serve as the Assistant Medical Director of this event.
