Family Medicine Residency at Wayne

The Family Medicine Residency at Corewell Health Wayne Hospital celebrated 50 years of resident teaching. Our program was the first Family Medicine residency starting in 1970 with our first graduating class in 1973.

Corewell Health Wayne Hospital's Family Medicine Residency provides residents with

Program at a glance

  • 99 inpatient bed full-service hospital with Level III Trauma status with the capacity of 200 beds
  • partner with Detroit Metropolitan Airport and centers for disease control and prevention to handle a wide variety of health and communicable disease concerns including mass trauma and emergency patients
  • Osteopathic accreditation since 2009
  • program accredited by the ACGME since 2004
  • Osteopathic educational track with a single accreditation system
  • 10 residents per year chosen through NRMP
  • affiliated with the Wayne State University School of Medicine and Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine
