Internal Medicine Residency at Trenton

The Internal Medicine Residency at Corewell Health Trenton Hospital is an ACGME accredited, three-year program leading to eligibility for certification by the ABIM.  The program is designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience that prepares physicians to meet the demands of a contemporary internal medicine practice in urban and suburban community clinics and hospitals.

While the majority of rotations will be at Corewell Health Trenton Hospital, some sub-specialty rotations and electives can be scheduled through Corewell Health hospitals in Dearborn and Farmington Hills to ensure the broadest exposure to volume and pathology.

Corewell Health Trenton Hospital's Internal Medicine Residency Program is dedicated to developing knowledgeable, skillful and ethical physicians in the art and science of medicine. Achievement of these goals is accomplished through the care of the diverse patient population at Trenton, as well participation in our structured didactic program that encompasses the ACGME core competencies:

  • Patient Care and Procedural Skills
  • Medical Knowledge
  • Practice-based Learning and Improvement
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Systems-based Practice
  • Professionalism

Graduate Resident Physicians will demonstrate proficiency in these competencies and be ready to practice internal medicine in a manner that demonstrates compassion and respect for their patients, colleagues and the members of the healthcare profession in its entirety.
