Psychological, emotional, and physical well-being are critical in the development of competent, caring, and resilient pediatricians and require active attention in life inside and outside of medicine. The pediatric residency program promotes the professional ideals of self-care, resiliency, and the responsibility to support other colleagues and members of the health care team. Through a variety of resources and methods, the program models, teaches, and nurtures these important professionalism skills and supports the well-being of our residents.
At Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital residents' wellness isn't just a priority, it's part of who we are. The program is built on a foundation of connection, support and collaboration. Residents are a tight knit community where friendships flourish. We're committed to providing top notch education, personalized career guidance and plenty opportunities to grow both professionally and personally. Most importantly we believe in balance, making sure our residents feel supported, valued and equipped to thrive not just during training but long after.

I chose Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital because it combines everything, I was looking for in a residency program, academic excellence, a nurturing environment, and a genuine commitment to compassionate patient care. From my very first interaction, I felt a deep sense of belonging, the kind that comes from a team that truly supports and uplifts. It’s a place where residents are trained with clinical rigor and guided with kindness. Corewell truly fosters both personal and professional growth. Here, you don’t just work, you grow, you connect, and you’re valued. Whether your goal is a career in hospital-based pediatrics, private practice, or pursuing a fellowship, Corewell Health Children’s prepares you for any path you’re interested in, while surrounding you with mentors and colleagues who feel like family. I knew this was where I could become the kind of pediatrician I’ve always aspired to be, one who leads with both skill and heart.
