At Corewell Health Royal Oak, our pediatric emergency medicine fellowship is built within a high-acuity, high-volume environment designed to develop the next generation of leaders in pediatric emergency medicine.
We are a Level I Trauma Center and a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, serving as a tertiary referral hub for the state of Michigan. Our teams care for critically ill and injured children transferred from across the region, providing fellows with unparalleled exposure to complex, high-acuity pediatric emergencies.
Our dedicated 21-bed pediatric emergency center sees approximately 25,000–28,000 pediatric visits annually at Royal Oak alone. Across the Corewell Health system, fellows gain experience within a network that manages nearly 80,000 pediatric emergency visits offering both depth and breadth of clinical training across diverse care settings.
Fellows train in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment alongside experts in pediatric subspecialties, trauma, critical care, and emergency medicine. This experience is complemented by strong opportunities in scholarship, medical education, and leadership development, preparing graduates to excel in academic and clinical practice.
We are committed to developing physicians who will advance the field—through exceptional clinical training, meaningful scholarly work, and personalized mentorship within a dynamic, supportive environment.
