Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Royal Oak

The Department of Emergency Medicine is excited to announce its Medical Education Fellowship. The Fellowship supports an advanced degree and is focused on clinical education, graduate and undergraduate medical education administration and scholarship.

Medical education activities

  • Master's of Health Professions Education from University of Michigan
  • CORD attendance yearly
  • UGME and GME involvement including advising, SLOEs and lectures
  • Teaching experiences clinically with medical students and residents and in simulation

Leadership activities

  • Acting assistant program director position
  • Participation in recruitment, including interviews and rank day
  • Participation in clinical competency committee and program evaluation committee
  • Lead resident medical education track
  • Optional: LEAD program

Academic deliverables

  • Scholarly activity of a publishable manuscript
  • Grand Runds presentation
  • Develop an educator portfolio

Attending physician responsibilities

  • Protected time with 7 clinical shifts a month in an academic emergency department
  • Benefits package including health insurance and hourly/overtime pay identical to full time faculty
