2026 Drive for Life Invitational raises more than $385,000 for breast cancer care

On a warm July day at the Franklin Hills Country Club, more than 200 golfers, guests, sponsors and volunteers gathered for the 2026 Drive for Life Invitational in support of patients and families facing cancer.
“Drive for Life has become one of our most meaningful annual events, bringing together people who share a commitment to advancing exceptional cancer care in our communities,” said Ryan Daly, president of Corewell Health Foundation Southeast Michigan.

This year’s event raised $380,000 to benefit the Walter & Marilyn Wolpin Comprehensive Breast Care Center at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital in Royal Oak and the Wilson Cancer Resource Center at Corewell Health Beaumont Troy Hospital.

The funds help provide patient care, education, navigation and supportive resources that can make a difficult journey feel less overwhelming.

The evening program carried special meaning as guests honored the Wolpin family and remembered Marilyn Wolpin, who passed away earlier this year. In a moving tribute, her husband, Walter, received The Marilyn Wolpin Award, honoring the kindness, compassion and generosity that have defined the family’s decades of support.

Guests also heard from Corewell Health East President Lamont M. Yoder, RN, who highlighted leading-edge work in cancer care, including a newly approved cellular treatment for advanced melanoma now offered at the Royal Oak hospital.

Participants also learned more about the programs their philanthropy supports. Team members shared information about services such as the Sharing & Caring program, massage therapy, acupuncture, nutrition support and other offerings designed to support the whole person throughout treatment and beyond.
