Why choose us

Collaborative team

Many skin, hair, and nail issues are caused by conditions that affect multiple areas of the body. Our pediatric dermatologists work closely with pediatricians, allergists, immunologists, vascular experts, and other medical specialists to ensure all of your child’s health needs are being met.

Family-centered

Every child and situation is unique. We involve children and families in the treatment process to ensure our care plans are the best fit for their needs. Our team is specially trained to work with children and focuses on making them feel safe and respected.

Conditions we treat

Hair, nail, and skin conditions can have many causes — infections, hormonal changes, responses to stress or medical treatments such as chemotherapy, autoimmune disorders, and many more. Our pediatric dermatologists diagnose, evaluate, and treat a wide range of conditions, including:

Services we provide

Our dermatology team performs a range of services and treatments for children with skin, nail, or hair problems. Concerning areas of skin will be thoroughly examined by a hand-held magnification tool called a dermatoscope to determine whether your child needs further testing.

Available services and treatments include:

Biopsies and cultures

Doctors may remove a small sample of skin or nail tissue for examination and analysis, which may include a skin culture (which tests for the presence of infections). Microscopic testing for many skin conditions can be performed in-office, rather than sending it to the lab.

Excision surgery

Surgical removal of a concerning or symptomatic skin lesion, such as suspicious moles, tumors, skin cancer, etc.

Medication injections

These may be an option for skin conditions (such as eczema or psoriasis) that require medical management because they haven’t responded as well to other treatments.

Pulsed dye laser treatment

This treatment targets blood vessels, destroying them without harming the surrounding skin. It can be used to eliminate or reduce the appearance of vascular birthmarks, hemangiomas, and various other lesions and scars.

Surgery for hidradenitis suppurativa

Surgery is often necessary to treat boils or sores caused by acne inversa. A variety of specialized surgical techniques may be used, depending on the location and severity of the lesions, as well as your child’s unique needs.
