West Michigan

Child Life Internship

We accept up to three interns (with or without a university affiliation) each semester, including those with in-progress coursework at the time of application.

Internship details

Interns complete rotations in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Interns also have time to observe other departments, providing a broader view of child and family life services beyond their core rotations.

Our well-rounded curriculum includes readings, assignments, in-services, and hands-on experience to prepare interns for a future career as a child life specialist.

This is a full-time, 16-week, 600-hour experience that includes weekend shifts. Part-time options may be available.

Key dates and deadlines

We follow the ACLP recommended internship application due dates and internship offer dates.

How to apply

We use the Association of Child Life Professionals (ACLP) Internship Readiness Common Application and do not require or accept any additional information. The application can be found here. Email your completed application to childlifestudents@helendevoschildrens.org.
