The Corewell Health Gerber Hospital Newborn Unit offers unique, family-centered maternity care. Our dedicated staff is well versed in care for both mom and baby and aim to make the birth of your child a joyful, comfortable and memorable experience. Rooms are private and cozy offering a homelike setting. Each is equipped for most high-risk deliveries and emergencies Our family-centered approach to maternity care immediately admits you into a birthing room, rather than to a "labor" or "waiting" area. We will try to keep you here until you are ready to go home. This is to create a sense of rest and security for your family. (If a cesarean section is needed, it will be performed in a surgical suite.) The Corewell Health Gerber Hospital Newborn is equipped to stabilize and care for babies who need specialized care. Our advanced technology and specially trained staff are qualified to care for many infants with special needs.
