Event description

The Innovations in Cancer Care Symposium is designed for specialists in oncology and primary care.

Expert speakers will highlight new technologies in cancer care that promote best practice for long-term survivorship. This one-day educational program will educate attendees on advanced screening for early detection and innovative surgical and non-surgical treatment options.

Topics include:

  • AI and cancer care: Understand how artificial intelligence is transforming cancer care through cancer prevention, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Evolutions in screening and diagnosis: Identify new and innovative methods for early cancer detection
  • CAR T and cellular therapy beyond hematology: Distinguish multiple advanced treatment options available for cancer patients
  • Robotics and reconstruction: Identify and comprehend the nuances and potential outcome benefits of advanced minimally invasive plastic reconstruction surgery

Who should attend

This event is intended for physicians, physician assistants, nurses, nurse practitioners, physical and occupational therapists, social workers, allied health, residents, fellows, and medical students in the specialties of family medicine, internal medicine, oncology, GYN, radiation oncology, and surgery.

Objectives

At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be better able to:

  • Identify signs and symptoms of specific cancers
  • Evaluate when to send patients for cancer screening based on updated screening guidelines
  • Understand and apply appropriate advanced treatment options for cancer patients
