Mark Barlek, DO

Mark Barlek, DO - 1st year fellow

Dr. Barlek grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and attended the University of Pittsburgh majoring in Molecular Biology. Prior to obtaining his medical degree at the Philadelphia of College of Osteopathic Medicine, he worked as a nursing assistant at a local hospital. He completed his residency at Allegheny Health Network where he served as the Administrative Chief Resident. During his residency, he performed two years of basic science research investigating nanoparticle drug delivery. In his spare time, Dr. Barlek enjoys spending time with his wife and son. 

Matthew Kawahara, MD

Matthew Kawahara, MD - 2nd year fellow

Dr. Kawahara grew up in Honolulu, Hawaii and attended the University of Hawaii where he graduated with a degree in Biology. He then worked as a program assistant for Hawaii H.O.M.E. Project, a homeless medical outreach clinic on the island of Oahu. He then obtained his medical degree from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine and then went on to complete his general surgery residency at the same institution. In his spare time, he likes to spend time with his wife and two children and enjoys going to the beach.
