About our program

The gynecologic oncology fellowship program at Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital offers a three-year fellowship training program, which is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) and accepts one fellow per academic year. The clinical and research-oriented fellowship is designed to provide advanced education and training in the care of patients with gynecologic cancers. The fellow will learn comprehensive diagnostics and complex surgical, chemotherapy and radiation therapies to manage the care of patients with gynecologic cancer. The fellowship offers a full scope of clinical experience from diagnosis, treatment, and end of life care. Educational objectives are organized according to ACGME and American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology competencies. It is our goal that upon completion of training, our gynecologic oncology fellows will have completed all of the ACGME requirements for subspecialty board certification and will be well-qualified for a clinical and research career in gynecologic oncology.

Why choose Corewell Health for your gynecology oncology fellowship?

The program aims to provide fellows with a robust and diverse training experience that focuses on all aspects of treating women with gynecologic malignancy. This includes surgical and medical treatments, as well as supportive/end of life care. Additionally, our goal will be to develop skilled and efficient pelvic surgeons that will be adept at managing the additional complex gynecology cases that are often referred to our specialty for management. Fellows will be trained and mentored to develop and uphold the highest degree of ethical standards, practice evidence-based medicine, to continually evaluate their outcomes and strive to make improvements and demonstrate excellent clinical judgement. Fellows will participate in research to ensure they understand the newest developments in our field and are capable of critically reviewing medical literature and understand the importance of making contributions to the advancements in the care for women with gynecologic cancers. We aim to instill leadership qualities in our fellows for them to be exemplary educators and mentors to the residents and medical students they interact with.
