Corewell Health Ludington Hospital brings the resources of Corewell Health to your community — always with a caring, compassionate approach. Through the contributions of our supporters, we can ensure that our patients receive the highest quality care without having to travel far, making a significant difference in the lives of those we serve.
Corewell Health Ludington Hospital officially opened the Crane Haven Cancer Care Center in January 2024. Our new center includes seven infusion chairs that overlook the new Mortensen Family Healing Garden, where patients and families can seek peace during their treatments.
This endowment was established to support cancer wellness programs including salon and wig services, massages, music therapy, art therapy, and more. Gifts to this endowment make it possible for our patients to receive these services at no cost.
Students at Mason County High School can now see a behavioral health professional within the school during the week. Students who completed their work in the clinic saw an average decrease of 45% in depression symptoms and 44% decrease in symptoms of anxiety.
The16th annual Ludington Hospital Gala was a tremendous success, raising $140,000 to support the Crane Haven Cancer Care Center Wellness Endowment. The Mortensen Family received the 2024 Justus and Paulina Stearns Legacy Award, which is given to those who go above and beyond in supporting our Ludington Hospital philanthropically.
Linda Kenney was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer in January 2018. Linda’s care team involved lead team members in Grand Rapids, but she was able to get local care at Ludington Hospital for all her chemotherapy treatments.
Linda recalls how difficult it was to find cancer wellness services to help her in her journey — and ended up finding her own massage therapist and salon services with her own financial resources. She has become a tremendous advocate for cancer services here in Ludington and is inspired by the new Crane Haven Cancer Care Center and the Crane Haven Cancer Care Wellness Endowment. Linda is thrilled to see that all cancer patients now have access to cancer wellness services right here at Ludington Hospital, at no cost to the patient - a game changer for all those going through cancer treatment in the Ludington community.
