Southfield, Mich., May 17, 2024 – For up to 30% of patients who are allergic to medical contrast dye or have a dye restriction because of other health conditions, they might find that it takes longer to get a diagnosis when it comes to life-threatening lung issues such as pulmonary embolism. That’s because imaging methods that detect lung problems but don’t use contrast dye aren’t as accurate and can be more time-consuming to administer.

“Until something happens, you don’t know how you’ll react,” said DuBose, who also works as a patient transporter at Corewell Health in Royal Oak and plans to study nursing, followed by general surgery. “I’m so proud and grateful I was able to be there, act quickly and start delivering compressions right away.”

Grand Rapids, Mich., April 25, 2024 – The inaugural class of Corewell Health’s Grand Valley State University Nurse Scholars Program will graduate Saturday, April 27, as part of a partnership between Corewell Health™ and Grand Valley State University.

Graduates of the program receive up to $20,000 in scholarship funds and must agree to two years of continual full-time employment with Corewell Health hospitals in West Michigan.

Yoder joins Corewell Health from Banner Health in Arizona, one of the largest nonprofit health systems in the country, where he currently serves as division president of 13 of the system’s 30 hospitals.

Royal Oak, Mich., February 29, 2024 – Corewell Health™ in Southeast Michigan is using virtual and augmented reality technology to enable patients to “tour” their own brains and assist physicians with planning and surgery. Detroit, Mich., January 12, 2024 – Corewell Health^TM and Detroit Edison Public School Academy (DEPSA) today will announce the grand opening of a new school-based clinic in Detroit that will provide students with access to a comprehensive range of medical services and mental health counseling. The clinic will help address the health care needs of the community, where access to medical and behavioral services has historically been limited.

GRAND RAPIDS and SOUTHFIELD, Mich., January 11, 2024 – Today, Corewell Health™ announced changes to its board of directors, including the introduction of two new members, the appointment of a new chair and vice chair, and the departure of three founding board members.

Two new directors began three-year terms on Jan. 1, 2024: Joseph J. Fifer, former president and CEO of the Healthcare Financial Management Association; and Robert Williams, M.D., retired family physician and health services researcher.
